I came across this on the net. It is very similar to one in my possession. I was curious about it. I can't imagine that there are many out there by this maker that would be near twins but I have no idea if this is true and I would love to see some other examples of high grade Mefferts. Looking at these old guns always piques my curiosity. Were these commissioned at the same time? Were they perhaps done for an exhibition? Is this work done by a known engraver? My list goes on and I will admit I know very little about German guns. JB

Here is a pic of mine.

I'd have to check, but Imm. Meffert had a business modell that indicated that they could make say 10 plain examples to 1 adorned one so it is somewhat rare to see adorned Mefferts & for 2 to all but be identical twins is a lovely find.
