Fine start to a New Year here.....
The Southern rolling Plains continue to give up its bounty to those who seek it......
We had a fine Late Dove Season, a bit of cold weather pushed some Mallards and Sprigs to me, and this Quail season to end them all continues in full swing.....
I checked the weather forecast and determined that today was going to be the best for several to come, so, called my secretary to say I wasn't coming in, got out on my marsh this morning, and had a fine duck shoot, taking the Texas limit of Mallards and two sprigs in short order....
Wanted to make a complete day of it so planned to Bird hunt this afternoon.....
Put the dogs down at 2:30 this afternoon , and as I surmised, the birds were feeding far and wide in front of the the approaching storm.....No stand out dog work, but no one did anything really bad, and their performance probably outdid my mediocre shooting percentage.....
I took a few pics today and will make an attempt to get them on Greg's great game and gun photo thread.
