It's a bit late for Christmas, but I'd like to thank Mr. Hadoke for the fine book Hammer Guns. His pictures, history, and details are fascinating and with Christmas company around the house, I only get to pick up the book in short spurts. I do appreciate his "in my opinion" points of view. Some authors just state their opinions as fact.

Anyone who might appreciate one of those beautiful hammer guns will get a lot of enjoyment on the development of the guns in this book.

Mines awaiting pick up from the bookstore.
Looking forward to reading it if its anything like his previous two books.

Yes, he sent a signed copy over to me a few months ago and I totally agree it is in line of the best books on hammer guns and information on them. He has added this to his already brillant collection on English guns.

Another excellent book with superb pics too.

Mary got me a copy for Christmas. I've known it was here for a couple of months but wasn't alowed to know until this morning.

Kind of like the "gentleman's" magazine I use to get, I looked at the pictures first. From the parts I did read, the book does not acknowledge some important contributions the gun makers in the USA made to the development of shotguns.
