I'm looking to replace the top lever spring. Everything is straight forward so far, but I'm at the point of removing the top lever screw (from the underside) in order to remove the cam that holds the locking latch in place. The screw looks to have a hex socket cap, but it seems stripped out. If anyone can offer a suggestion, I'd appreciate it. I was thinking about dremeling a slot in the screw head to accept a flat screwdriver, but that is stretching my skill set a bit.

Thanks in advance.

I have no idea what you're looking at, but if you think creating a slot in a damaged hex head would do the trick. Maybe, you can use a screw extractor. Even if it isn't needed, I'd use good frozen bolt tricks and steady things before going at it. Best of luck with it.

As close as I could get

Are you talking about part #34?

And if so, you know about part #33??

Two questions
One, have you tried metric allen wrenches?
Two, have you tried a TORQ wrench?
Mike

Mike. Yes, that's the part and yes I've tried both Torx bits and Allen wrenches.

Got it! I drove a slightly oversized torx bit into the head. It bit into the metal, and the screw came out. Thanks
