I would like to see classic African rifles in addition to double guns. Roosevelt carried a 405 Winchester M 1895 and one of the first 03 Springfield Sporters in addition to his Double Rifle. Running target is a natural for a good handling Lever or Bolt gun that fit my idea of Vintage nicely.

Boats, I hear what you are saying but
The Vintage Gunners' purpose is to promote the use of side-by-side firearms. There are a lot of other firearms configurations that were available in the Edwardian era such as pump shotguns, semi-auto shotguns, bolt and lever rifles as you mention, and frankly over/under shotguns all of which some people urge us to classify as "vintage". But "vintage" is not the defining characteristic. We have to stay focused on the side-by-side style which is the key determinant for our organization. That's what we are all about. It is a slippery slope if we start making exceptions. If we do not stay the course we will become pretty indistinguishable from the typical "anything goes" shoots that are prevalent today. I don't know of any other event in the country offering the kind of targets that you and Haley will present this Friday. Those interested should take advantage of this rare opportunity to shoot these classic double guns. Should be a great time! Thanks.
