Bushveld, Holland & Holland had previous commitments that are keeping them from coming this year. I understand, but do not know for certain, that David Cruz will be at the shoot as a participant. If you need anything from H&H right away I would suggest that you call them directly. However, as you can see in the list posted above in this thread, nearly all of the other prominent gun dealers in the country who carry vintage doubles will be there.

Hope to see you at The Vintage Gunners Cup this weekend!

Suggestions for DR cups next year
Include the 375's in the 9.3x74R class...where do I shoot my 375 FM?
45 cal/500gr. make this 45/480gr as the factory load for the 450 3.25" Nitro was a 480gr bullet
You probably do not have enough requests but the 577 and larger are in a very different class, these are the supper stoppers

I would like to see classic African rifles in addition to double guns. Roosevelt carried a 405 Winchester M 1895 and one of the first 03 Springfield Sporters in addition to his Double Rifle. Running target is a natural for a good handling Lever or Bolt gun that fit my idea of Vintage nicely.

Ken/kebco, I will pass along your suggestions to Haley Pearsall who is running the rifle shooting at this year's VGC. You can also contact him direct at haleypp@aol.com

We welcome suggestions. Thanks and I hope to see you at The Vintage Gunners Cup.

Boats, I hear what you are saying but The Vintage Gunners' purpose is to promote the use of side-by-side firearms. There are a lot of other firearms configurations that were available in the Edwardian era such as pump shotguns, semi-auto shotguns, bolt and lever rifles as you mention, and frankly over/under shotguns all of which some people urge us to classify as "vintage". But "vintage" is not the defining characteristic. We have to stay focused on the side-by-side style which is the key determinant for our organization. That's what we are all about. It is a slippery slope if we start making exceptions. If we do not stay the course we will become pretty indistinguishable from the typical "anything goes" shoots that are prevalent today. I don't know of any other event in the country offering the kind of targets that you and Haley will present this Friday. Those interested should take advantage of this rare opportunity to shoot these classic double guns. Should be a great time! Thanks.

The Expedition is all loaded up with guns, whisky and some really nice seasonal ales. To put it mildly, we are ready to go. Leaving today for the Eastern Shore of Maryland today.

Hope to see you all at The Vintage Gunners Cup!

There was mucho hooplaah going in to this Cup and nothing since than at least from the shotgunners. How many shooter's were there, how did it go, did it meet your expectations as far as number of vender's and the hopkin' claybird courses/ One fella that posts here said he'd'be at the vintager's on Friday and the northerner on saturday. How did they compare ?

I was there and had a good time. Most of the usual vendors and a lot of beautiful guns for sale. The two five stands for practice were nice and reasonably priced. The course and targets were fun with a lot of variety. I shot the side events on Saturday and skipped the main event. I was not able to watch the double rifle competition because I spent so much time shooting. I hope so see the double rifle stuff next year. I'll be back.
