Is anyone on here importing anything into the U.S. from Holts anytime soon? I just won two rifles (one pre 1898) on the sealed bid auction and I was hoping someone might like to combine shipments to ease the import costs. If interested let me know.

Thanks SKB! I'll give you a call shortly.
The email's correct though. Not sure what the problem was.

dearmer I have a rifle over there also. I've been using John at Cheshire Gun Room. He hasn't had enough firearms to make up a shipment as of yet. He's the best and cheapest that I've found and I've been doing this for over 10 years. I also have used an importer in Texas that's is cheaper by far than anyone else I've found and gives very good service.

You are correct Mike that a group needs to be put together to make it cost effective. I have a large batch this shipment making overall cost to each client quite low. A couple of guns at a time will kill you on shipping and brokerage. I can only offer low costs on importation when the volume allows.

I would love to be able to buy from Holt's and have a simplified method to ship to me.

Harry Gordon there in the UK was who Holts used to recommend for the exporting on that end.
A single gun, by the time you pay the Customs Broker, can cost around $1K to import.
The last I heard was that it was taking up to 6 months to get your ATF6 paperwork approved.

Not my last Form 6, about 3-4 weeks if you submit them online. I use Harry and you are correct about cost for a single gun, or more if you use a customs broker which I am required to do. But you cut that figure dramatically per gun if you bundle your shipments.

SKB, that's good to hear on the Forms. I have used Harry too. Really good guy. The company Harry uses to package guns for shipping does an incredible job.

Is Harry shipping guns again? Had him do one about two years ago. Shortly after that he had ceased to do it citing Fed Ex's decision to not import/export any guns, regardless of age.
If he's found a work around, that would be good news indeed.
