My homeowners policy through Cincinatti insurance quoted $3.70 annually per $100 for gun insurance. Is that good, bad, or what?

That is REAL high! NRA is $1/100 my household insurance is pennies / hundred but it is a top end policy. I insure enough guns that i can justify the household insurance. bill

I have some NRA insurance ($2,500) but also have insurance thru Historic Firearms. $40K for $126.00 per year. No schedule of individual guns required and the guns are insured for basically anything that happens....especially during shipping to/from a smith.

Does Eastern require your guns to be housed in a safe when at home? If not in a safe, are their rates higher? Has anyone here ever filed a claim with Eastern and how was that claim handled?

Keep one thing in mind here. All the "gun insurance" company's will have a deductible of at least $1,000. If you have a single gun stolen as I did a few years back chances are you'll get nothing from these company's. IMO: You'd be way ahead increasing your own security and that's what I have done. Jim
