Chris, very nice show. Really like the dress code. The scenery was very nice and the photography was excellent. I like the way you explained how the birds are driven to go over the trees and then fly full speed and glid making some tough shots. Are the different beats also set up the same way, and are these beats made to go with the prevailing winds?
One other thing, I thought over there that I would see a lot more sxs, instead it seemed most were shooting those things with the barrels stacked on top of each other.
Keep up the good work and it is nice to see how the upper crust enjoy shooting.
Are hens birds taken also? I just thought I saw cocks.
Again keep up the good work and I hope this show continues.

I surely wish that the Outdoor Channel was still offered with the "basic" cable package that I currently have (and can afford.) The local Time/Warner outfit knows that this is a very popular channel around these parts, and has bumped it up to the "premium" level. I'm stuck with VS, versus....whatever they are calling Outdoor Life Network these days. Sigh, I'd love to see Chris in action.

I shot phesants in England at Knepp Castle during 1992. The only guns used were side by sides. They used only English Springer Spaniels to pick up.

All, or almost all, of the guns (shooters, that is) were Yanks, which explains the predominance of O/Us.

The show was first rate and that type of shoot is a dream for many of us on this side of the pond--even us dedicated "rough" shooters who have a hard time imagining hunting without a dog leading the way.

I read somewhere (maybe even in SSM) that in many of the shoots in England and on the Continent the O/U is gaining in popularity and at some shoots even predominates among the English shooters. Of course Mr. Batha is using an O/U.

It's interesting that to some degree the English game gun configuration (my preference) is gaining in popularity in the states and perhaps losing a little ground in Britain.

Any persective on this from Mr. Batha or our some of our other friends accross the pond?
