I load card and fiber wads and as a result my barrels get leaded. I have been using Hoppe's #9 for lead removal and have never used anything else. It takes many applications, followed by a electric drill powered brass brush on a cleaning rod to eventually get a clean patch to come out of the bores.
Is there anything more effective than Hoppe's #9 and if so please tell me?

There might be something more effective but I bet it doesn't smell as good laugh!

LeFusil, have you used the product? If so, does it work as advertised?

You wouldn't buy this for the smell, but I have been happy with the results (shotgun and sidearm)

I have only used the stuff when I was shooting lots of cast pistol bullets and also to clean .22LR barrels. It works great for that. I've never used it on a shotgun barrel.
I'm a WD-40 and heavy bristled phosphor bronze brush kinda guy when cleaning shotgun tubes. I've never had a problem with leading in my shotgun barrels, so Ive never seen the need to use anything heavy duty.

Just the possibility of damage scares me. I think I'll stick with the tried and true.
