Why on Earth has he done this? I noticed the CMP has to get an FFL and comply with record keeping requirements. Maybe the guvment hopes that the surplus 1911s will be used for wrongdoing and it can then track them and use the news for anti-gun propaganda...Geo

Much ado about very, very little. Knowing this administration, applying to purchase one would get you on a list, with said list used to separate you from something you already own, or a right you already have.
There are better guns at the gun store.

I wouldn't touch anything this crazy coon offered on a silver platter. Sounds like a re-hash of the "Fast and Furious fuckup"--Another "backdoor" Obammy Yo Mammy wants to try to "rope a dope" the unsuspecting into a BATFE clusterfuck. Many good clean originals still out in the marketplace- these are "composite parts" 1911's- you'd spend twice what you'd pay through the CMP netwerke to get one accurized and tuned for other than USA issue 220 grain mil ball specs..
