Looking at a 20 ga Superpose Lightening (RNLT) at a local shop. Price seems a little too good to believe so I wonder if I am missing something. Is there a range for salt wood guns?

Thanks,

JDG

The Browning SALTWOOD guns are from approximately 1969-1970-1971-1972-1973......Get the Browning serial number reference guide and check to see if the Browning gun in question is in the 1969 to 1974 range......If the Browning that you are interested in is inside that range of date of manufacture be very careful......There are chemical test to check for saltwood......A easy first basic test is to remove the butt plate or recoil pad screws......If those screws are rusted RUN AWAY and run away fast......Now if someone is trying to hide the truth about a Browning they might have REPLACED those screws to mislead people......The chemical test for SALTWOOD detection is a very good test......Jent
