I doubt the case was actually made by them.Akah is the house brand for the large German firm, Albrect Kind,that markets many items.Many German rifles had scopes mounted in "claw","swing", or other quick detatchable mounts.Cases like this are intended to carry these scopes in,when detached from the rifle.I would guess the markings are "model" or "order" numbers, from Akah.I suppose you could reasonably see a story where a "owner"marked it to id the scope for his MS mod.1903 carbine,but proof is another thing altogether.
