Drew, no there is no connection between Les amis du Muse d'armes and La vie du Muse Wallonne. Joe wood is correct in what he say. Daryl also know more about this subject and what I did for Peter, but there is no need to make this public in this forum. Marc.

After seeing this process, and the actual labor involved, I have a greater than ever appreciation for these bbls. While I do not own a serviceable gun with these style pipes, I do have a barrel full of old Damascus bbl SXS shotguns in worse than wall hanger condition that my father left. I think I will treat them with a bit more reverence now, and maybe clean them up and actually put them on a wall someplace.

Then, an evaluation of the one's that are interesting. If you already know what they are, how about a list and some pictures? Regards Ken
I prefer wood to plastic, leather to nylon, waxed cotton to Gore-Tex, and split bamboo to graphite.

I considered that once, but they are very rough. Some are rusted closed. But after I clean them up a bit, I will certainly get pics posted for some help IDing them. I remember one of them has a side lever. I was never interested in them much because my dad told me they would be unsafe to shoot due to the Damascus bbls. I know now that it's safe for those bbls in general with the right loads, but these guns are gonners.

You'd be surprised at what can be done. I've rehabbed some pretty rough guns. It all depends on the gun, all guns can be restored to some extent, especially if they're complete. The question then is if they'd be safe to shoot, usually dependent on barrel thickness.
You never know, you might have a gem stuck in there in the barrel.

Maybe I'll have another look and bring them in from out in the shop.
