Yeah, that is the key to getting it to not show in the bluing. And rust blue does a good job covering it up too.

Well, here's a dumb answer (guess): too much internal heat to tig or spray weld a sxs bore, but maybe a single barrel???...Geo

Are there any impacts to the strength of barrels caused by welding the pits? I wonder if Sherman Bell could be convinced to perform some destructive testing?
