Hi All:

Who can I contact to check the thickness of my barrels for saftey?

I live in South Central Pennsylvania and the gun is an old 20 gage SxS. The gunsmith told me that I can shoot any factory ammo in and be safe but I would like to have a second opinion.

Tia,

Franchi

I know Griffin & Howe in Bernardsville, NJ has a wall thickness gauge. Depending on your location in SC PA, that's about 2-1/2 hours up I-78 from you. If you're willing to mail the gun to have the check done, the universe expands exponentially.

Chuck Bishop, who hangs out on the Parker website (and is their historian) lives in Harrisburg. Don't know if he has a gauge or not, but he probably knows who does in the area.

I'm looking for info about a combination gun I recently acquired. It is a Tikka over O/U, marked 12-76/.222, and has the name Armistad Arms(Armory?) on the left side of the barrel, in gold letters. Found ref to LSA55's from Ithaca, but this gun only says Tikka and the name above, although otherwise it matches all pic's. Ser # in 60K range. Wondering if made in Finland or elsewhere, and about when, and any other opinion or pertinent info.

Gun crazy you will get more answers if you start a new topic than post your question into another topic. More people will read the subject line than read every post on every thread.

A Manson wall thickness gauge from Brownells (and they have them in stock) will only cost you about $120. Cheap like borscht, learn how to use it and it'll be an invaluable addition to your bench.
