I've got a Ruger #1, calibre 7 mm Mauser, en route. In the meantime I've purchased some inexpensive ammo from, of all places, Serbia. Goes by the name of prvi partisan, or PPU.

Does anyone have any experience with this ammunition in any calibre? As I said, it's quite inexpensive and would be a good find if it's actually good stuff.

Many Thanks - Marc

Marc: This is excellent ammo for the money. I shoot their 7x57 154 gr. RN load in my Custom Lightweight Oberndorf Sporter. While it is not quite as accurate as Federal Premium, it isn't that far away, 1in. v .75in. The bullets expand fine. You made a wise choice, especially if you're only paper punching. GOOD LUCK

Wow, something good actually worked out for a change! Many Thanks, Alvin.

The Ruger #1 Boddington - Leopard (what a sales gimmick!)came in today so I'll have a chance to test out that ammo soon.

The gun looks great. One difference is the sights. They line up so well I'm now wondering if I should add a scope.

I've burnt up a couple thousand rounds of steel case 223 and 9mm.
seems as good as any other plinking ammunition. Not match quality by any means in the military calibers.

Out there doing it best I can.

Correction... my PPV load is a 7X57 139 GR. RN...not 154 GR.
SORRY to anybody looking for this one. Jerry

Great plinking ammo in 10x25mm and the brass is of good quality for reloading purposes.

Many years ago when I owned Steyr Mannlicher 7x57 the only American ammo loaded to full potential was Hornady. The rest was "watered down" stuff design not to blow up old military clunkers. I think that is why many Americans think 7x57 is very mild recoiling caliber.
