As I recall, in '69 fine stock blanks were easier to find and less costly than today, and labor was lower...all this in relation to dollar values at the time.

Right, and a ratty Parker Trojan 20 that needed a restock and a reblue could be had for $50. It's all relative...
It's still a very nice looking Trojan that speaks for itself.

Was speaking with a gunsmith friend not long ago. He acquired a Trojan as a project gun. His efforts so far have included sculpting the frame so it looks like a graded Parker rather than a Trojan. He also put the metal tip on the forend. But more work would be involved using a graded Parker forend iron because the loop either isn't the same and/or isn't in the same place. But if you don't do those things, it will always look like a Trojan wearing nicer clothes. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing.

The Trojan had a snap on/off forend which required a very hard pull to remove. All the higher grades had a lever release. I would guess a switch would be rather involved.

Right you are, Miller. The absence of the Deeley latch is a dead giveaway that the gun, even if upgraded, started life as a Trojan. But given the availability of Parker records, it's harder to pull tricks with them these days than it used to be.

Skeetx, really high condition VH, it looks like the case colors are strong. This Trojan is a 1930 gun also serial 231054.
eightbore bill, I love this gun just the way it is, I don't think a "restoration" would do a thing for this little 20. I don't see anything that offends me when looking at it, case colored frame and forend iron would not add up to the effert to get it done.
