I shot my RBL-12 at the gun club today and noticed it has a much different front bead than the RBL-16, RBL-20, RBL-28 and RBL-410 Is this low bead common on the 12-gauges?

Whatever you do, don't let the bead difference get into your head. Guaranteed to mess with your shooting!

My RBL-12 also has that lower bead.

I had not noticed that the barrels on these guns do not touch at the muzzle.

So much for the rule of thumb that all guns with barrels that do not touch are most likely barrels which have been cut down from longer lengths.

Have to agree that looks weird with the barrels not touching. Maybe a cost reduction thing?

Designed for convergence at 80 yds? My 1913 Fox has a similar (silver) bead.

I thought it was weird when I got my 16. But they shoot where they're supposed, so I forgot about it until now.

That is a bit disconcerting that the barrels don't meet at the muzzles. I'm guessing when folks get ready to re-sell these guns, there will be some explaining to do re: 'no, the barrels have not been cut'. It must have been much easier to make these guns this way. I wonder how XF and XF will shoot??

Much like a O/U barrel set, the muzzles don't meet. I have a RBL 16, it shoots fine choked IC/M and prefers Win. over Fiochi shells. More to do with stock fit I'm thinking! I do agree that the looks of it takes some getting used to.
As to reselling. These are modern, recent production guns. The records should be easily accessed through CSMC if need be. I have the original order for mine, with options listed.
