I am now wearing glasses for the first time in my life. they are prism lenses and are a God-send, allowing me to function.

HOWEVER...i cannot figure out how i am going to shoot flying.slight movements of my eyes result in things getting very distorted. for example, a small eye movement makes a telephone pole appear to be leaning 30°. well, even looking straight ahead distorts reality, and the farther away i look the more of a fish eye effect.

how should i handle this situation when shooting a shotgun?

i usually use "hisdefspex" which is now "pilla" glasses for my hunting and shooting and have been talking to them about my prescription. does anyone have any other suggestions?

at the end of the day, i am so so thankful for being able to see and function. being able to shoot flying is a little lagniappe. the dog work is what is most important to me, but it is fun to shoot sometimes.

and while we are at it, how should i use binoculars and scopes with these glasses?

thanks!

Give your computer time to adjust to the new hardware. As you wear the new glasses your brain will work things out and soon every thing will return to normal. Info provided by DR Haik in Monroe ,LA

Yes and it has been no problem for me to shoot before or after the prescription of ocular prisms.

The amount that one eye sets what it sees over the other eye is not greater than the width of an open choke gun at Upland ranges. So with or without glasses the eyes misalignment is not detrimental.

Shooting a scoped rifle the scope is sighted for where the singular eye sees when it looks through the optics, so there too displaced images have no hindrance.

At least, that has been my own experience.
