I've got a Superposed Lightning 20 gauge in need of barrel rebluing and some wood work and refinishing. Have any of you had experience with Art's or Midwest doing Browning work?

Bruce, you can't go wrong with either one. I've had both do work on superposed.

Not work on a Superposed, but:
I had Art's do a complete wood and metal refinish on a Winchester 101 in addition to some repair work and removing a stuck choke (which I think they sent out) on the same gun. Literally, the gun came back from Art's looking better then it did brand new. Literally.
MGW has done some good work for me, too. They did a good job diagnosing and fixing an intermittent FTF in a Citori under the Browning warranty. They also fitted a new butt to Winchester 101, but the wood-to-metal fit could have been done a little better.
I think Art spent a bunch of years as a Browning factory repair man before setting up his own shop.

Midwest was offering a "factory correct" refinish for Supers at a reasonable price. I'm planning to send my solid rib field 12 unless something convinces to do otherwise.

A friend sent an ultra rare early European A-1 grade smallbore three barrel set with slim forends to Midwest a few years ago for a buttstock replacement. It came back with the most bland looking light colored wood with a sick looking thick, shiny Browning like finish, nothing like the original. You have to be very specific when describing what you want.

Just went back to the MGW website and can't find any reference to the "factory correct refinish" for Supers, but they have changed their website since my last visit.

Arts worked my 1931 grade 1 and 1954 Funken Grade 4; both took my breath away when they came back. It takes time, and money, but I would trust Arts with any Superposed.
