I heard a rumor the other day from a gun shop owner that AYA is up for sale. The quoted price was $1 M which seems WAY to low. Has anyone heard anything to confirm or deny this rumor?

I would doubt this. I import this line of shotguns direct from the factory in Spain and I have not heard this
I am surprised that a gun shop owner could say this as he has not connection to the factory like I do and yet he make that statement

Thanks John. I really had my doubts when I heard it. Who knows where this sort of stuff starts.

Maybe a "rumor", but with so many firms combining/merging or closing, etc., over the last several years, I won't be surprised if it happens.

The good news insofar as quality shotguns go is they never really wear out.

The bad news insofar as quality shotguns goes is the same.

There IMO is a glut of used and very serviceable shotguns available today and with the rising costs of creating them little incentive to buy new ones.
Just go to any sizable gun show or have a look at one of the online gun auction services and what you see will bear this out.

Case in point: I have a cased two barrel AYA Model 2 set I recently acquired. The cost to build this set back in the 80's was around $7,000. I got a quote a few months back from AYA and the cost to duplicate this set today is $13,930 exclusive of shipping and taxes.
