Grateful for leads to a smith who can work on Churchill sears. Gun in question doubles and may need new sears or, at least, sears recut.

Would also be grateful to pass along to the friend who has used this gun for 30 years or so a rough idea of costs.

Churchill sears are no different than any other sears, nothing special or different about them. In your area, send the gun to Mr Hutton in New Hampshire. Formerly of Churchills (jobber) and is quite capable. Or, send it to Abe Chaber or Gunter Pfrommer. Either or, it'll get fixed right. I would expect to pay anywhere from $150 to $500 for the job.
