Geoff, can you give us any more information? Is it marked Miroku only and not Browning? Is "FEII" the model? Does it have automatic ejectors or plain extractors? Miroku catalog copy from the early 1960's shows a Model 530 sidelock, and I have seen a few Miroku-marked sidelocks in the States (not BSS Sidelocks), but very few. A friend bought one that was a plain extractor gun. Probably should ask also just to make sure: assume you're talking a side by side and not an over and under?

It is Marked BC Miroku only. It is an SLE SxS with 9 pin locks. FEII is the model. A model F is an extractor and FE an ejector. There was an article by Gough Thomas in "The Field" I am trying to track down a copy. He spoke very highly of them. A BSS is a much plainer gun than the Miroku version. My gun is colour case hardened has drop points to the stock and gold cocking indicators. I have seen other examples coin finish and concealed hand detachable locks. I will try and post some photo's. The serial number of my gun is 166191.

KayZed;
Those are wonderful and exceptional well made SLE's of which you should be very proud to own and use. They are seldom encountered and you are very lucky. The engraving on yours, I have not seen before--hand engraving, of course.
I hope yours is one of the long-barreled ones as they are really, really hard to find.

Very good indeed. Those shotguns are almost impossible to see in the Northern hemisphere. You have a real treasure.
