Hello Folks (from down in NZ)

Whitey had reach all round the world with his smile, he and I did some deals, always with good faith and humour, and for me, I always learnt something.

This is another piece of bad news. Whitey was indeed a gentleman and a worthy member of this group. I spoke with him shortly after Joe Harz died and he did mention his health was not good but I didn't think it was this bad. Rest in peace sir and tell Joe we miss him.

I also just spoke to his Daughter and she is as sweet as Whitey. He will be missed. I first met Whitey on a forum and then when I moved to Colorado I got to visit with him a true gentleman. RIP my friend.

I'm sorry to hear about Whitey. I only know him from this forum and I confess, I know little about what he was (collector, gunsmith, general gun aficionado and tinkerer, or all of the above) but he sure seemed like a nice guy.

This news seems to come too frequently of late. I never met Whitey except through this forum but we had some dealings when he had extra parts and he was always just a damn nice guy. I'll miss him.

I counted Whitey as a friend, swapped emails and phone calls with him..I never did see a picture of him. Anybody have his obituary or picture?

Been out of town and just heard. RIP, my friend. A visit with Whitey was an education. Will cherish the tools I managed to trade him out of.

I really need to visit this forum more often.

Like most, I met Whitey through this or another internet forum. We exchanged emails, phone calls, traded guns, and I helped him with a few of his projects...once, when he found out I had acquired an old South-Bend lathe and was getting it in shape and tooled up to use, said "you need a tool post grinder for that machine". In about a week, a nearly new DuMore tool post grinder, complete in its steel box, showed up on the UPS truck.

Whitey was a retired Air Force veteran, and one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet.

Godspeed, Whitey...save a spot for me.
