Just thought I would share the early production full-stock Martini I just picked up to go with my late production half-stock. Both chambered for the 577/500 Express and made by Husqvarna.
Bring on the tigers!

For those of you who might be unfamiliar with the 577/500 Express here is one compared to a little 45/70 cartridge.

It has a nice grip but i'd prefer the half stocked version to be honest. I'll bet you know all about recoil when you pull the trigger on either one though.

Actually with the black powder recoil is not bad, more of a strong fast push than a hammer blow, although I definitely prefer standing to bench rest.

Is that the round used by the British Army in the late 19th century? (Isandlwana, etc.)

I like that half stock - that and the .303 British thread are giving me wicked ideas...
