There are so many good products, today!

My favorite is Ballistol. It does a good job, it is nontoxic, and it is harmless to wood and wood finishes. In fact, Ballistol can be used as a wood polish. Mixed with water, Ballistol does an effective job of removing corrosive priming residues, too. The Germans even used the stuff to disinfect cuts!

Curiously, Mp-7 and Ballistol are my two primary go-to products. Since I'm doing black powder these days, wash and Ballistol is the drill. Used to be Mp-7 followed by Ballistol.

Ballistol is a surprisingly effective one can-that-does-it-all product. But, it's not Barricade, and generally not the "best" at any one thing. Usually plenty good enough though.

Anything other than Hoppes on an American gun is heresy!

I can add to the confusion, I use Automatic Transmition Fluid and Acetone. I even have a vertical tank to soak my skeet tubes in.
