I just received a W.W. Greener FH35 grade double. 12 gauge, ejectors, side safety. 30" steel barrels.I couldn't be happier with the condition.

Seller thought production was 1902 or 1903. Serial is in the 538XX range. Any way to verify?

Some of the sellers pictures are below. If it ever stops raining here, I'll take some new ones outside with sunlight.

Chambers are 2 3/4". Barrels ring true. Only issue I've found so far is one ejector doesn't work as strongly as the other using snap caps. The chambers are relatively tight and wouldn't fit the only empty hulls I had handy, so I don't know if they'll be fine with regular shells.

It's so much fun getting a new double.

Very nice! I recently purchased my first Greener, an 'Emperor' model, and could not be more delighted! I now understand why people fall in love with English shotguns. Enjoy!

Graham Greener's book puts that serial number in 1904.

At 1904 that also puts it at the start of the new Rules of Proof, which tallys with the marks. Some reloads and cases fired in other guns can be a bit tight. It should be fine with factory stuff. I have hammer 12 nad a hammer 16 that won't chamber reloads. I don't think the chamber dimentions were very standardised back then. Lagopus.....
