My new CSMC Inverness showed up today. 20 ga (only ga available, so far), 30" barrels, 5 choke tubes, pistol grip. I'm very happy with the wood, as I didn't order any upgrades, including wood.

I would have liked the long-tang and grip cap, but I wasn't willing to drop $700 for them. And I'm not going to make a big deal about not getting the grip cap with my short tang. It would have been nice, but it is what it is. I'm not put-out enough to send it back.

2 "negative" surprises:

1. It didn't come in any kind of case or even what I would call an appropriate box. The barrels and receiver were wrapped seperately, in paper and bubble wrap, then put "loose" in a plain box. I was expecting a hard, plastic box, or at least a cardboard box "fitted" to the gun, if you know what I mean. It was packed securely, just not in a gun box.

Fortunately, I happened to have an O/U Canvas/Leather box from Jeff's that suits it just about perfectly.

2. The Inverness was advertised at "6 lbs. 5 oz."; I just put mine on the scale: 6 3/4 lbs....

Please forgive my lack of photographic skills.

Did you happen to notice it is missing a trigger?

Just kidding. Splendid looking gun, let us know how you shoot with it. A box doesn't matter to the birds.

Best,

Root around in the box, maybe it is in there somewhere.

On the weight, handling the Inverness in Tulsa this past spring the production gun was noticeably heavier than the prototype, especially in the barrel. I believe they used the prototype to advertise.

May of 2012. About 4-6 weeks ago, someone quoted the factory as saying "we're working on Jan/Feb orders now" Must not be working too hard

I ordered on the first or second day the release was announced. Feb. 2012? IIRC.
