Well, my stock from rifle-stocks came in after a 4 month wait. Very rough still but the profile on it is perfect.

I went with the safari classic in fancy walnut with ebony tip grip and forearm.

I have my Silver's recoil pad and Timney trigger all ready to go.

The local gunsmith with seat and chamber the criterion barrel on the Remington A3 rcvr and channel the stock. But I first have to get it to where the surface is all done.

I have been dreaming of doing this build for years and I am nearly there!

I will start a log of my progress for folks to make fun of.

I don't know much about doing such a project, but wouldn't a 1903 be a better choice for a from scratch project?

I'd have to agree with 8B, that is if your pursueing the classic style. I may be able to help if you need a reciever.
