Has anyone had barrels rust blued by Briley?

Their price seems quite reasonable ($250.) and I would appreciate hearing of others' experiences

Hi, I've had them rust blue a couple sets of bbls for me and was very happy with the results. One set I asked for a high polish and that's what I got. There were no ripples, waves or any other flaws. I was impressed. I'd use then again in a heart beat!

The only down side is they always give you a six week completion timeline on whatever job they do. The blueing took about 8 weeks. Seems this is what they tell everyone, but worth the wait.

Do they do express blue (Belgian blue) or traditional slow rust blue?

I'm having a set of Winchester 21 barrels done right now. I'll let you know how they turn out. My friend had a 20GA model 12 pigeon grade gun done by them and they did a wonderful job.

Yes - excellent job on Fox barrels about a decade ago.

Gerry, are the Model 21 ribs to be removed and resoldered? I have run out of people who can do that for me.

What's Briley's actual turnaround time?

Hi, they always give you a 6 week time frame, but they say that for every job! One set of bbls took about that time, the other a bit over 8 weeks. A lot depends on the time of year. To be honest, this is about the best time, most of the winter work is done from projects sent to them after the hunting season. And before others send them in to have them done for the next season.

They are good about giving you a status if you call, e-mails forget it!
