Hi, I inherited an old J.P. Clabough & Bros double barrel 10 gage shot gun. Most of the writing on the top of the barrels has worn off. Its Damascus barrel. What litel Ive been able to find out says that ist British or English and quite old. Can anyone tell me where I might get information on this gun? Is there anyplace other than hte barrel s or the sides below the hammers that I might be able to find numbers etc?
Thoughts?

Not much help but gives a sense as to possible value of a quality example;

Nice looking Clabrough shown there. Note in the description that 3˝ "Grams" of black powder should undoubtably have read 3˝ Drams.
3˝ Drams of black would still be considered a rather light load for a 9˝lb 10ga but in grams would only be 54 grains of black or approximatley 2 Drams, hardly enough powder to blow your nose when put up in a 10ga hull.

Trust me when I tell you that mines in no where near as good a shape as that gun. The basic gun is different too. the hammers each engage exposed firing pins. I'll try and take a picture and post.
