A while back a rumor was floating around that we would be offering Miller Single Trigger installations again for English guns. The rumor is true! Here is photo of a selective trigger we recently installed in a Walter Betts sidelock.

Best regards,

Dan

Great to know. Are the prices quoted on a per job basis or are they fixed?

Thanks

This conversion puts the value of the gun very low. It makes the gun unsaleable in the UK.

That W. Betts gun would be worth about 3500 in the UK. But with a Miller trigger it would be worth 1500 top's

Adam - Prices are fixed for Parker, Fox and Ithaca NID. Other boxlocks and sidelocks are evaluated individually for viability and priced according to difficulty.

Thank you Mark!

And...to the naysayers, present and I'm sure future - we are a business providing what we feel is a quality product and service. Our customers know and appreciate the Miller trigger for what it is, possibly the most reliable single trigger ever designed. We trust our customers judgment when they request our product, that they know what they want and have made a sound commitment. I just wanted to make it known that we are willing to continue in the footsteps of Elmer and Howard Miller by providing our trigger for English guns.

I had no intention of offending anyone's sensibilities by making this announcement.

Thank you for the comments.

Nice gun but the single trigger would count me out. I guess it could be converted back which in that case would make it fine.

Dan It looks like good work and yes do what the customer wants but how much to convert from single to double if I don't have the triggers.

At the Great Eastern SxS Shoot (Hidden Hollow) Dan May and I discussed the installation of a Miller Single Trigger in an era 1890s Henry Adkin 10 gauge. The Adkin had a Purdy-type single trigger which often caused that fine SxS to double. In the meantime I found someone who understood how a Purdy single trigger was designed to operate and for a mere $600 he was able to repair it. So far so good but if the trigger starts to double again I may bite the bullet, or trigger in this case, and send the Adkin to Dan May for a Miller Single Trigger. I'm not going to pour more money into a bottomless pit!

Many older single triggers can double. Having a Miller Single Trigger installed into ones favorite vintage SxS will provide it the reliability one demands.

PS: I would have had a set of Double Triggers installed my my Adkin but the cost to include lengthening the engraved and gold filled trigger guard would have been more than installing a Miller Single Trigger... And I thought that boats were holes in the water in which to pour money!
