My present employment involves commuting daily via Amtrak into Boston. Don't even ask what time the alarm goes off. As I write this, I'm on the train looking out at some of the Maine farms and woods through which the tracks run.

Today, for the first time, the leaves on some of the trees are turning color.

Just a reminder that Grousemas is only 19 days away.

I was noticing the same thing on the weekend. Overnight lows were down to the low 40's Saturday and Sunday nights and I could see my breath.

It's the most wonderful time of the year.
