I believe it was caused by the seller sending it assembled and not broken down. The box showed a minor crease.Fed Ex was the shipper.

What a drag! I wonder if the stock could have already had a hairline crack prior to shipping? I would have a new stock made, especially if the seller is picking up the tab.

Mike I had my Henry repaired and it was worse than yours but in the same spot. Not great photos but they're all that I have. Cost was $245 for repair, refinish, rechecker. 450-400 2 3/8". I shot it quite a bit after the repair and had no problems. It looks best if most of the problems are in the checkering. http://cap-n-ball.com/fulton/It took a couple of months but he's busy.

I just received a gun that was shipped not broken down and it was also heavily creased across the center of the box. Fed Ex was the shipping company. Luckily, there was no damage to the gun.
Last year, I was not so lucky. I had bought two Lefevers and one had a broken buttstock. When I received them, both had broken buttstocks. Again, Fed Ex was the shipping company.
I think I'm beginning to see a pattern here. I never had any problems with any guns shipped by the U.S. Postal Service.
A true sign of mental illness is any gun owner who would vote for an Anti-Gunner like Joe Biden.

I just received back from Doug, may Baker SBT Sterling. The wrist was a mess of breaks and past poor previous repairs. The appearance of the grain in the butt stock though was very nice to me and it did come with the gun. Doug did his magic, it is all well now. I am not disappointed at all the way it is now altogether. Though you can't see it is repaired, it is still the original gun stock and reinforced internally, that I can't see I would ever have a problem again. Lots of shooting will tell the tale though. This is the 3rd. gun I have had Stock Fixers repair for me. Never disappointed yet.

It needs re-stocking. Absolutely no question.
Expect a cost of 4000 plus wood to do it properly.

You can't repair a stock like that. Only a fool would shoot a repaired stock like that. It has to be restocked. I would charge 2500 plus wood 4000 is the price that a jobber that puts the work out would charge.
