The engraved model 12 that I recently acquired (circa 1972) has seven silver inlays, dogs & birds. Is there a way to determine if the inlays are sterling sivler or gold. I would think that if they are sterling they would have tarnisned, which they have not. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Regards,

Max

Touch an inlay with a toothpick dipped in egg yolk. If the spot become blue black, it is silver.

I would guess pure silver. Sterling is a good bit harder to inlay as would be white gold.
