I have a Colt 1878 that I would like to have steel barrels on. A while back I bought a parts gun for other parts. The barrels for the parts gun are a mess. We discussed here using the breeches as a monobloc for sleeving. Doable but too expensive.

Cimmaron sells a 1878 copy with 26" barrels,, I would prefer 28 0r 30" I could live with 26". The gun lists for $650.00 or so. To my question.

Does anyone know how accurate a copy is the Norinco?

I recall an Italian made, Uberti or Pedersoli copy that was very a true to the Colt. They are no longer produced. I have not been able to find a used Uberti/Pedersoli. If somebody here has either the Italian or the Norinco gun I would like to compare some measurements.

Thanks,

Chief
