Hi
Looking for info on a german gunmaker named Heinrich Scherping
from the little I have read, he was listed in the NEUER STOECKEL,
a gunmakers directory that ends 1900: "Heinrich Scherping" located in Guestrow in Mecklemburg and in Hanover,Germany. Mentioned between 1831 and 1913. He is listed as a gunmaker to the court in Guestrow, and in 1913 in Hanover. He became a member of the blacksmith guild in 1862 and 2 former addresses are given.
I have seen his guns from the 1880s to the late 1920s. I personally own one of his drillings, a 98 mauser, & a 22 cal target pistol.I certainly would appreciate any info on this fine maker or info on any of his guns.

I have a very light modest 16ga made by him with sidelocks and the "Sauer Selbspanning" system whatever that is. He made some very high grade guns.

Any pictures? What year was that gun manufactured? Is it for sale? Is it a hammer gun with back actions? Any info greatly appreciated. I also sent you a PM
