Not to oversimplify, but for me it boils down to flat vs. vertical. The former feels natural to me, the latter doesn't, and I shoot better with my sxs's than I ever did with my o/u's. I think it's all in our heads.

I was about 12 when I first saw a sxs 20 GA. and lit up like a street light, pumps and autos were just guns to me after that. I have noticed at a sporting clays shoot no one gives a guy carrying an o/u across the parking lot a second glance but a sxs speaks of the man behind it. For the most part you see one o/u you have seen them all. Mike

I shoot my M-37s better than my NIDs but I continue with my NID 5E because I like it more. At 74 yoa, enjoyment is all that counts for me.

Mr. Snyder: I don't know if you hunt, but if you do, I bet you will find your NID points better in a woods than your 37.

I am an equal opportunity shooter. Shoot all of mine, yours, his, and all gauges. Am partial to the S X S though.
