A new engraver, at least to me, he was located in Los Angeles California. He arrived in the US in 1898 and died in 1957.

First I would like to thank the anonymous owner of the California made drilling as well as the super pictures by Rick Brian.

It looks like the sides and the bottom plate were done by different hands. The sides are much better to my eyes. The animals on the sides are all carefully outlined for added depth. The elk on the bottom isn't done the same way.
