please go to gunsamerica.com and take a look at items 925474240 and 902164724. seller advertises case colors as original...they look too bright and too good to me true to me...your expert opinion would be appreciated.

They look original to me based on quite a few Field Grade originals that I've viewed or owned or worked on......

Those case colors are absolutely correct for an L. C. Smith Field Grade and some Ideals. The more highly engraved grades, from Specialty on up usually were less colorful. I've seen many and owned a few that looked exactly like those shown.

Hmmm. I hate to be skeptical, and can't comment on the accuracy of LCS colors, but what I think I see is that there is a LOT of color left on the receiver and TL, BUT - the finish on the wood looks old and dull, as does the bluing on the barrels. In other words, even if the color is accurate, it (to me) appears too vivid to match the condition of the finish on the barrels and wood. It could be just the picture, though.

They look original to me, I do think the lighting in the pictures make them more vivid then if they were in natural light. If I had any concerns it would be with the 20, easier to tell if could look at in person.
An original 1928 12 ga of mine,

And a recased 1948 20 ga I just picked up,
