Gun shoots low.
How does one adjust the gun to raise POI?
Cut the heel of the stock at an angle, thus changing pitch?
Add a pad like a Cheekeeze to raise your head on the stock? That moves your head to the L of the gun.

ideas please.

thanks

And I took out the heavy lace and replaced it with some OLD braded fly line.

I have not found the addition of these to affect left/right shot placement, but they of raise POI

If you don't like the lace-on type cheep pad, you can have the stock bent up; 'bout as well have any cast need bent at the same time. Heat bending is a well known process. Unfortunately, not all guns can be bent. Then, you can have an adjustable comb installed (requires cutting out an adjustable piece of the cheek area).

...and the ever unpopular "bend the barrels" trick has also been seen by me.

A friend had a little sidelock Spanish gun in 28g once that had barrels that 'swooped' up a bit. He was missing high and I tried shooting it. I noticed the barrels being slightly curved up.

I've also straightened some barrels here for a member that were bent from damage. Pretty simple really. An arbor press and some soft wood blocks are all that is needed. Barrels (doubles) can be bent easily and the soldered ribs conform nicely without problems. A weak solder joint may be a problem. But I've not had one with two sets bent/straightened to date.

I would have to say No to the shotstring idea.

did that statement include any explanation as to how changing the stock's pitch would alter the shotstring - I would like to hear that reasoning.

Never seen a change to pitch make any significant difference in POI unless the gun was falling off the shoulder during firing.

If shooting say 6" high, a drilling can be lowered in impact by reaming out for long forcing cones. Found out the hard way, but since have done it on purpose for guns too appropriate for rising birds, shall we say. Don't know about doubles, and it has no effect on single barrels. Removal of front sight can sometimes cause one to bury the top of the rib into the sight picture a bit more. I tend toward increased comb height over barrel bending, but if you must, you must. Best of luck...Steve

No idea where that came from. I read it somewhere when trying to figure out what to do.

Think I'll try and see if the pad idea works. If not, will try something else. I thought it should stand to reason that a slightly higher comb will raise my head over the stock a little.
