Hey Doug. I think that its an AKAH that I picked up a few years back when the vintagers was in Millbrook.
Got it from Joe of D.H.

Nice sling, leather with a nylon backing.

I have one of braided leather strips that I really like. I believe it to be of about 1930's vintage. I have seen them on the used parts market from time to time.

No, I have not seen one. If you run across something, I have several guns that still need slings.

Gentlemen,

The GGCA (German Gun Collectors Association) has a couple braided slings listed in the "Quality Products" section of their website that you might be interested in. They are advertised as being for the narrower swivels seen on most early German guns.

Many thanks, Buchseman! I've always preferred the braided sling on European guns for both its traditional look as well as its relative skid-free surface that doesn't slide off my shoulder, but had run out of sources.
Regards, Joe

Google for Vero Vellini Standard (NOT Cobra) Walnut Safari Sling. The cost at Amazon.com is $38.89. The ends are 23mmx2,5mm. I have had this sling on my Remington 660 .350 meat rifle for couple of years now. Excellent product and unlike most of the others you see in US it's actually very comfortable to "wear".
Most of rest of Euro style slings sold here are basically thin leather belts with buckles at each end from comfort perspective they truly suck!
