Issue of the DGJ arrived today. Should be a good read for almost everyone; among the topics covered are double rifles, Lefever, Fox, LC Smith, Parker, and more "finding out for myself" stuff by Sherman Bell. Also, the cover on this issue has a bit less flash than that of the Spring issue.

I may be quite a few days behind the recipient of an "author's copy". We'll see. Murphy

I wish I was only a couple of days behind. Usually it takes an extra 2 to 3 weeks to get up here.

Having authored some pieces for DGJ--although none recently--I can verify that authors do not get preferential treatment in how quickly their issues arrive.

Yeah. We got our issues early, but I'd have much rather had a chance to proof the layout and correct the errors their editing introduced. Only The Canadian Journal Arms Collecting gave that courtesy. I guess I must have pissed Dan off as my name was dropped from the In Appreciation section a few years back. At least it is not being printed in gold!!

Mike, Don't feel bad; I am 3 hours away and it still takes 2 - 3 weeks after the first notice here for my DGJ to arrive. :-( Phil

My oldest young 'un gives me a yearly subscription to it. Raised him right, didn't I? I'm sure ready for my new issue. I picked up the last one last night and thumbed through it just to make sure I hadn't missed something. I hadn't. SRH
