In a discussion over coffee today, one fellow said he saw a thread on another site condemning the BPI manual. The loads were not trusted. My experience with 16 gauge loads using the SG-16 wad and various cases and powders has been good. The only weakness I see is that some of the 7/8 loads shoot dirty. That is partially due to winter temperature I believe.

Has anyone heard complaints about the BPI manual?

Your friend is talking about the 16 ga.Society reloading forum.A number of the people on that site are under the impression that the data is arrived at by using computers and not through actual testing.I have a copy of the manual and my only complaint is that about 90% of the loads are in either the Multi hull, which they sell,or the Fiocchi hulls.I have had very good results w/ Fiocchi hull/primer,sg-16 wad,19.5 Unique,7/8 oz # 8's.I've been using this 2 years, year round, and getting a solid 10 reloads out of the Fiocchi 16gt hull and I shoot over 4000 a year of these.

Little Creek if you want probably to most complete listing of 16 gauge load data log in to 16ga.com and send a PM to Russel Gray who is the coordinator for the 16 gauge reloaders group. For a one time cost of $20.00 you have access to 16 gauge loads created by members of the Group and tested by Tom Armbrust using about every combination of hulls, wads, primers and shot charges imaginable and more are being added every year. The data is stored in a data base so the latest data is always available and the data base can be sorted to give all of the loads listed for a specific powder or hull or any combination. This is a very valuable tool for the 16 gauge loader.
