I think that the action is a Lefever.

As I said on the other site.

I think it is/was a Baker. The lock and receiver angles means it is probably a Lefever or Baker. However if you look at the lock configuration and pin locations as well as the screw right at the area the lockplate expands from the receiver it looks like a Baker pattern.

If someone can find a Lefever with the same pin/screw locations on the lockplate I'd like to see it.

BB, I'll defer to you on this one. I saw one old damascus Lefever on one of the auction sites that appeared to be very similar to this gun.
Double checked and should have looked at the pin holes more carefully. Baker it is.

The Lefever is actually what I thought it was at first as well. Then i looked at the pins and screw location and realized it was probably a Baker. Both of which are well made guns but not sure I'd want to build a large bore DR on them. Unless it is like some surmised and more of a paradox gun.

Besides I don't know for sure so could be wrong. It's happened before and I'm sure it will happen again ;).
