Does anyone know who sells or makes leather handguards that would fit a 10G side by side (Lefever F). Many thanks

John Bugden in Tn, I think. Also, he makes weighted handguards.

I have a drawer full of handguards, that I seldom use. The problem I have with them is that recoil makes them work forward, requiring frequent re-positioning. Painting a coat of contact cement on the inside of the guard helps some. Let it dry thoroughly , before installing. I have a 4 oz. weighted guard, from John Bugden, for 28 ga. Very nice work. Even so, I seldom use it. They're not the perfect answer, IMO. A glove is a better choice. Again, JMO.

You can take a 12 and spring it to fit a 10.

Jim Legg,
Thanks for the contact info and, of course, the name correction.

I have used both handguards sold by Conneticut Shotguns (about USD45) and Galco (about USD55) for more than a dacade on every hammer double I own. They work great and stay pretty much in place IF, IF, IF you buy one size smaller, that is, 16ga for 12s and 20 gauge for 16s.
For me gloves have never been as satisfactory.
I use handguards both for trap, etc., where barrels get hot, to cold weather hunting, where handguard keeps my front hand from getting so cold, even with nice warm gloves.
