Now we are talking! Got to be close to 300lb. And with a double gun. ...the bird's gotta be close that big too! (Mark sent me an e-mail with "Smart assed comments welcome" as the title, so I hadda oblige.) I'm really just jealous about his whole trip.

Gil, Pound for Pound I think it was a draw but I walked away and got in the truck on my own. It took both trakers and the PH to load the bird!

Treb, I used a Merkel 141 in 9.3x74. The 1st shot was at 197yds off of shooting sticks It was a hit but he took off running. I came off the sticks and fired again. I drew feathers but he did not break stride. I cracked the gun reloaded swung through and dropped him at 325yds. Ostrich can soak up alot of lead, a friend hit on 4 times with an 30-06 before it came down. Not much of a breast but man do they have drum sticks!!

Anyone who has hunted African game knows how much tremendous punishment they can take. What I'm amazed by is that double rifle of yours, great shooting and a great shooter. Those Germans……..they know how to build a rifle!!!
