MaacK,Good to see JP' gave you a reply with Orig. Info. Are the Barrels engraved on the Top-Rib Sir Joe' Whitworth Steel ?It should show the London Re-Proof stanp on the Barrel-Flats for the Lenghthening of the Chambers by Purdey.(A Script letter "R"). Not advisable to shoot "Hi brass cartridges".Use Care with the 111 Yr old 6.1/2Lb"Classic". dt "Crossed Chisles"

I'm not sure. My father is on a cruise and won't be home until Monday, and I don't know how to open the safe (it's a antique too, hehe)..

Maack...RUN do not walk from that individual that you are getting "advice" from re. sale of your Uncles firearms. You can also place the firearms on consignment with number of reputable dealers. A good place to look for asking prices on collectable and other guns is gunsinternational.com Good Luck! Jeff S.

I have had a good consignment experience with George Caswell at Champlin Firearms. I have also purchased guns from him. A friend of mine consigned several guns to George for an estate and had a good experience. I recommnend George.
I have purchased guns from Kirby Hoyt at Vintage Doubles and would recommend him based on that experience.

Thanks everyone. I don't receive e-mail alerts from this forum, and I been flooded with work (webdeveloper) lately and trying to get things done. My work time is pretty much 9AM to 4AM for the past 2 weeks. I can barely keep my eyes open so I'm taking a break today.
