I have a fairly plain Gye & Moncrief hammer gun which was given to me in the 1970s. It looked as if had been "reamed" to 28 gauge, from a double rifle. It had a short section of rib at the action, but with no obvious provision for a sight. At the muzzle, the barrels are banded together, again, no obvious provision for a sight.

The late H A Clifton lined it to .38-55 for me while he was in California (later in Bellingham, WA). David Yale added a front sight and a tang sight on the wrist.

Thanks a bunch. How can I get in touch with DICKSON? Mine is a small light DR, with back action locks and stalking safeties. Pictures can be found here

Moody-

This is a shotgun that started life as a double rifle?
Pity that it got hacked.
Can you re-size those images so that we can see it better please?
Will you also re-size the photo of the barrel flats and show it too?

Cheers

Too bad

To convert it to a shOtty' wouldn't the firing pins and breech face holes have to be modified to convert it.

Moody-

I'd already found those images, I'd like to see them bigger.
Also - I'd like to see a better image of those barrels at the breech end and the locking lumps too.
Can you do close-up images with your camera or shoot higher-resolution/larger images?
From what I see, that's a really long action bar (barrel flats and action flats...) - to see those markings would be very nice.
Also - can you show an image of the standing breech of the action (where the firing pins protrude) and the root where the standing breech and the action bar meet?

Cheers

Moody, what is that "shotties" weight? Even though not what it started life as, it still exudes coolness.
