I just picked this up and want to find out something about it. This is a really pretty SxS built in 1962 by S. MARCO (Armi San Marco?) The 28.5" barrels are marked OFF.S. MARCO GARDONE VT - BRECIA and CHROM NITRO STEEL - BOEHLER-. The barrels have probably 95% blue with some edge and muzzle wear. Bores would rate good, being mostly mirror bright with some dark spots. Lockup of the Greener Crossbolt action is excellent. The chambers are 2.75" The receiver is finished bright with some nice engraving. The wood is in good condition with sharp checkering, with loss of varnish on buttstock and minor bumps and scratches.

Armi San Marco would seem to be the manufacturer. Does anyone here know how many years were they made? Any idea of value? On another forum someone indicated that not many of these were imported into the US. Thanks.

Armi San Marco primarily produced replica pistols that were imported into the US.
John Boyd stated that:

Quote:
Armi San Marco is a maker of lower end guns. The man who owns the company is named Buffoli. I met him many years ago. The batch of Ithaca classic doubles, the ones tht they refused here, and later were imported by Thad Scott were made by him. At this moment he is a main supplies of spare parts for guns.

Not familiar with ASM doubles (In fact was only dimly aware that they MADE doubles...). But not all their productions are mediocre; for a while they were making the best of the SAA clones. I had an ASM .38-40 SAA clone that was more accurate than any Colt SAA I ever fired (including my "New Frontier") and would interchange all but the hand-fitted parts with any genyoowine Colt First or Second Generation SAA. Handsome devil, too.

I have an O/U 10ga...3.25" chamber ASM. OK gun, 8ish pounds. Think low end Rizz...not low end Fausti, bit better than that.

If you didn't pay over 7 or 8 hundred you didn't get hurt.
